The Chateau Ste. Michelle Orphelin is a deep, dark purple red and has a thick, velvety appearance when you swirl it in the glass. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Orphelin tastes very fruity and is very approachable for a full-bodied red wine. In fact, it's not nearly as dry as you might imagine and it's not too tannic either.
The Red Truck California Red is a fairly dry, full-bodied red wine that has both marked acidity and medium tannins. The flavors up front are dominated by the same berries that appear in the nose then finishes dry with a bit of pepper. There is also a bit of smoke in there plus something akin to Worcestershire sauce. This Red Truck California Red works unusually well cold for such a dry wine which will probably make it appealing during warm weather and outdoor cooking.
There are nice, positive aromas coming from the Red Bicyclette, mostly red fruits and berries. Strawberry is the most identifiable scent, though it's not the only one. As with the aromas, there are nice fruity and berry flavors here. The Red Bicyclette is soft, a little crisp at the end and dry, and overall very easy on the palate.
Parallèle 45 is a fairly dry wine with a medium body and rounded tannins. The Grenache grapes provides fruit flavors up front while the Syrah creates a peppery edge to finish. The dry fruitiness makes it seem almost tart in comparison to other dry red wines, but it may be too dry for some people's tastes.
