The flavors of the 2009 Cline Cashmere are primarily cherry, red berries, and tart red fruits. This is a full-bodied dry red wine blend with soft tannins, marked acidity, and an extended length. It would probably work with most gilled red meats and certain types of fish, like salmon. On the whole, though, we were disappointed with the 2009 Cline Cashmere. We wanted and expected to enjoy it, but it just didn't do anything for us.
Cline Cellars' California Zinfandel is a dry red wine that tastes about like what you might expect from a Zinfadel. Many, though, regard this Zinfadel as much too fruity - it's common to see it described as even being jammy because of the strong fruit flavors. If you're looking for a fruity Zinfadel, this will work well. On the down side, there is a strong medicinal tastes that appears up front which can be unpleasant.
Although the taste of Cline Cellars' Ancient Vines Zinfadadel is rather complex, it is a very approachable red wine that could be enjoyed even by people who aren't fans of red wines generally or California Zinfadels in particular. Medium-dry with soft tannins, the smooth taste is both a little bit fruity and a little bit peppery. It's not at all harsh, given how strong the alcohol content is.
