The flavors of the 2007 Nederburg Pinotage consist mainly of aromatic red fruit. It's a dry, full bodied red wine with strong tannins and marked acidity. The aromas of this Pinotage are moderate and consist mainly of smoke, vanilla, and red fruit. It's not a sweet smokey smell, more a smoke you get when cooking meat.
The clean, positive aromas of the Delheim Pinotage is filled with fresh red fruits, some pears, and maybe even a little melon. As with the aromas, the flavors of the Delheim Pinotage are primarily strawberries and red fruits. The acidity creates a clean, crisp finish and an overall nice balance. This medium-bodied wine isn't too dry or too sweet, making a good wine for a lot of different dishes and occasions.
The Helfrich 2007 Reisling starts out with positive citrus flavors then moves to a crisp, dry, mineral finish of moderate length. In fact, the finish is a bit drier than the initial impression would suggest and the acidity of this wine develops over time. Although this Helfrich Riesling only received a score of 89 from Wine Spectator, I was really impressed by its flavors and how well it paired with fish.
