The aromas of the 2007 Pascual Toso Torrontes are about medium in strength and intensity, with primarily tropical fruit and floral scents mixing together. Overall, though, the aromas are a bit older and less pleasant than other Torrontes, in particular the 2007 Catena Alamos Torrontes. I'm not sure if I would go so far as to say that the Pascual Toso Torrontes had a smoky or even musty edge, but it did seem older and less fresh.
Because it's marked acidity, the 2007 Catena Alamos Torrontes is a wine that's better to pair with the right food than it is to just sip alone; fortunately, when paired with the right foods it really shines. Light-bodied with a fairly short-to-medium length, the flavors consist primarily of tropic fruits and melon.
The flavors of the Crios de Susana Balbo 2007 Malbec are dominated by berries, cherries, some smoke, and even perhaps something like a cigar. Although relatively moderate in strength, the flavors here are a bit stronger than some other Malbecs you might find.
The rich flavors of the Terrazas de los Andes Reserva 2006 include the fruits and berries you would expect in a Malbec from Argentina, but it also has hints of leather around the edges as well as a nice spicy, tangy finish. This a medium to full bodied wine with medium, round tannins and a crisp acidity which produces the nice finish. Overall the Reserva Malbec is a nicely balanced wine that is worth drinking in a variety of circumstances.
