The Mumm Napa Brut Prestige reveals how good the results of blending wines can be, especially when they are being blended for a sparkling wine like this. This sparkling wine is both fruity and spicy, a little sweet without being overly sweet, and pairs well with a number of different dishes. Mumm Napa Brut Prestige is definitely worthy trying if you're willing to buy a moderately priced sparkling wine.
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut is not the highest rated or best known French Champagne, but it's a remarkably good French champagne. It's also reasonably priced, at least compared to the better known champagne brands. So if you'd like to try to good French champagne to see what the fuss is all about but don't want to break the bank, you should get some Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut.
The Fetzer Gewürztraminer is on the one hand thick and sweet enough to function as a dessert wine, but on the other hand it's also strong enough to stand up to foods and work as a regular dinner wine. There aren't many varietals that can pull off this balancing act, but the Gewürztraminer is one of them and Fetzer has done a nice job making this wine from it.
The 2007 Carl Reh Riesling should go well with many different Chinese dishes and is worth trying with anything spicy. However, it's probably best to try it with dishes that have at least a bit of sweetness as well. That should bring out the best characteristics of the Carl Reh Riesling.
The Clean Slate 2007 Riesling is a clean, refreshing Riesling that is very good during the warm summer months, provided you keep it well chilled. It will work well with most Chinese and Indian dishes, sushi, and probably anything that is mild-to-medium spicy. It might also be worth trying with various fish and pork dishes.
