Clear and bright, Wishing 's 2006 Unoaked Chardonnay is medium to pale yellow, almost verging on straw in its color. There's a nice sparkle deep in the center of the wine, promising a refreshing drink.

It is possible to find unoaked Chardonnays, though, that present the full fruit flavorings of the Chardonnay grapes without the notes of smoke, toast, and vanilla which tend to be imparted by oak.
The Wishing Tree
The Wishing Tree is a relatively small winery in Western Austrlia run by John Larchet. Only a few of their wines have been imported to the United States, but they all appear to be good values that are worth trying.
