Wine & Food Pairing

The 2009 Ballentine Chenin Blanc is a dry, medium-bodied wine with a crisp, tart acidity and tangy, citrus flavors with some mineral notes. The alcohol of the Ballentine Chenin Blanc is quite strong so keep that in mind - you're better off keeping it very chilled when drinking. If you let this 2009 Ballentine warm up too much, the alcohol will become too harsh and the wine will be unpleasant to drink.

Food Pairing
  • Caesar Salad: When paired with caesar salad, the 2009 Ballentine Chenin Blanc is less acidic but the flavor suffers significantly and this is not a recommended combination.
  • Goat Cheese: The 2009 Ballentine becomes more tart with goat cheese, making this a decent pairing to try.
  • Shrimp Scampi: When paired with shrimp scampi, this Chenin Blanc becomes sweeter and more aromatic. This is definitely a good pairing and is highly recommended if you get this wine

Ballentine "Pocai Vineyard" Chenin Blanc

The Ballentine "Pocai Vineyard" Chenin Blanc is decent enough, but I think you need to pair it with the right foods to get the most out of it.
