Food Pairing

Pairing Chandon Blanc de Noirs with Cheeses

  • Aged Gouda: This is a fine pairing, with the Chandon Blanc de Noirs nicely complimenting the nuttiness of the Gouda.
  • Smoked Cheddar Cheese: Although cheddar cheese can work well with sparkling wines, the combination of Chandon Blanc de Noirs with smoked cheddar was quite unpleasant.
  • Aged Romano: Chandon Blanc de Noirs was only mediocre at best when paired with aged Romano.
  • Aged Parmesan: The Chandon Blanc de Noirs made the Parmesan much smoother and more interesting, creating a nice pairing.
  • Fresh Camembert: Sparkling wines tend to pair nicely with soft cheeses and this was no exception. If you have the opportunity to try very fresh Camembert, you should definitely try it with Chandon Blanc de Noirs.

Pairing Chandon Blanc de Noirs with Hors D'Oeveres

  • Caviar: The combination of caviar with Chandon Blanc de Noirs is excellent and well worth trying for yourself.
  • Green Olive Paté: A paté made from green olives makes the Chandon Blanc de Noirs taste a bit smoother and fruitier.
  • Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese: Chandon Blanc de Noirs goes much better with smoked salmon (and presumably other smoked fishes) than it does with smoked cheese like the smoked cheddar above.
  • Sushi (Tuna, Salmon, Vegetable): Chandon Blanc de Noirs paired very nicely with all the sushi we tried: vegetable sushi, tuna sushi, and salmon sushi. The fresh, delicate flavors of the sushi were nicely complimented by the dry, fruity wine.

Chandon Blanc de Noirs

The acidity of the Chandon Blanc de Noirs helps it work really well with so many different things. If you want a sparkling wine that isn't too sweet but not harshly dry, this is definitely for you.
