Wine & Food Pairing

This 2007 Pinotage from The Winery of Good Hope is a deep, dark red - almost purple in color and is reminiscent of blood at times. This full-bodied Pinotage is smooth with a strong alcohol taste, red berry flavors, and a spicy finish. Overall it's a decent Pinotage, which is commendable because Pinotage is a very difficult wine to get right.

Food Pairing: Winery of Good Hope Pinotage 2007
  • Poached Salmon: This Pinotage from the Winery of Good Home becomes sweeter and fruitier when paired with poached salmon, which makes for a very good and highly recommended combination.
  • Risotto: When paired with risotto, the 2007 Pinotage becomes tastier overall and is surprisingly good as a pairing.
  • Sour Cream Sauce: The addition of a sour cream sauce to the poached salmon makes the Pinotage drier and is pairing that man would probably enjoy.
  • Feta & Dill Sauce: The addition of a feta and dill sauce to the poached salmon makes the Pinotage taste smoother and cleaner which is also fairly nice.

Winery of Good Hope Pinotage

This Winery of Good Hope Pinotage is a very good Pinotage and it works especially well with salmon. If you have any thoughts of trying a combination of Pinotage with fatty fish, you should definitely consider this!
