The Volant Mill wine is medium-sweet and rather tart. It tastes strongly of blackberries, as you would expect. It's probably not the sort of wine that you would want to just sit and drink alone. You could do this, if you want, but blackberry wine is better when paired with desserts - primarily chocolate.
We've tried this wine with a variety of desert options like cheesecake, angel food cake, etc., and the combinations just don't work. Pairing the Volant Mill Blackberry Wine with dark chocolate of just about any sort, though, works incredibly well.
Color & Clarity
The Volant Mill Blackberry Wine is a dark, deep garnet color that is a bit hazy.
Nose
The aromas of this Blackberry Wine are powerful with lots of sweet fruit — primarily blackberries, of course.
