As with the aromas, the flavors of Bully Hill's Love My Goat are mostly cherry with a bit of plum. This medium-bodied red wine is quite sweet though there is also a lively acidity and soft tannins. It's not at all complex and it feels almost as thick as it looks despite the relatively low alcohol content. Overall the elements of this wine don't hang together or mesh as well as I've found in other inexpensive red wines. Bully Hill's Love My Goat will probably be an acceptable red table wine or cookout wine for most people, but it's strong sweetness combined with its lack of complexity doesn't put it at the top of my list of choices.

Bully Hill's Love My Goat Tasting Notes & Review

Color & Clarity
Bully Hill's Love My Goat is a dark ruby-red wine, very thick in appearance to the point that you wonder if it's really wine.

Nose
Strong cherry aromas dominate the nose of Bully Hill's Love My Goat, but there are notes of plum, grape, and perhaps some other fruits alongside.

Bully Hill's Love My Goat will probably be an acceptable red table wine or cookout wine for most people, but it's strong sweetness combined with its lack of complexity doesn't put it at the top of my list of choices.

Pairing Bully Hill's Love My Goat with Side Dishes

  • Cole Slaw: The wine becomes a bit too sour with paired with cole slaw and I expect that this might also be the case with other, similar dishes like potato salad or macaroni salad.

Pairing Bully Hill's Love My Goat with Main Dishes

  • Hot Dogs: Bully Hill's Love My Goat becomes a bit drier and more interesting when paired with hot dogs.
  • Bratwurst: This pairing makes the wine both a little more fruit as well as a little more sour.
  • Hamburgers: When paired with hamburger, Bully Hill's Love My Goat becomes both fruitier and drier, making it I think the best pairing of this set.

Bully Hill's Love My Goat

There are lots of really inexpensive red wines out there and some are decent; I'm not sure that Bully Hill's Love My Goat is quite there however. It's not horrible, but it's not as good as some other cheap reds.
